Wetlands II - Ward Conference Service Acticity

     On Saturday, June 16^th, we returned to the Huntington Beach Wetlands to help eradicate non-native species that encroach on the wildlife preserve and reintroduce native flora that the center cultivates on-site.

     The morning began with a briefing on how to identify native and non-native species. While members of all ages scoured the landscape to remove invasive plants, others spent time in the greenhouse transplanting those indigenous varieties that the center works to encourage.

     It was a beautiful morning spent with sun and sea and all left with a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the place in which we live.
